Knotless braids are a newly popular way of doing box/ single braids. They are called knotless because, besides their differing technique, they look different from regular braids as they don't have the look of a chunk of hair at the root; forming a knot. Regular braids are done with a single piece of hair braided from root to tip whereas knotless braids have the hairpiece being split into at least three and gradually added to the braid.

It is largely popular for its more natural look as well as being painless due to less tension and weight but also reducing breakage caused by regular braids at the root of the hair. Knotless braids take longer to install than regular braids but last just as long. Due to the benefits of knotless braids over regular braids, Mara Aka syle only offers knotless braids.

Different braids sizes can change your whole look. Here are some tips to choose one. 

Small braids give a more sleek look and take the longest. They also last long with relatively low maintenance. Jumbo braids are a more expressive, casual look. They take less time to do and can last long but with high maintenance. Medium and big are just that, in between!
